Informa Markets Unlocks the Food Ingredients and Nutraceuticals Industry with “Fi Asia – Vitafoods Asia 2025”

Bangkok, September 2, 2025 – Informa Markets, a leading international exhibition organizer, will host two major business events for the food and health industries concurrently in Thailand — Food ingredients Asia (Fi Asia 2025) and Vitafoods Asia 2025. These international exhibitions are set to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and create new business opportunities for companies across Thailand and the ASEAN region. By showcasing the latest trends and innovations, the events aim to unlock the operators’ full potential and empower local businesses to compete and succeed on the global stage.

Ms. Rungphech Chitanuwat, Regional Portfolio Director – ASEAN at Informa Markets, said, “Thailand’s food ingredient industry is being propelled by several key drivers — the adoption of international standards and safety practices, cutting-edge research and innovation, strong brand development, global marketing strategies, sustainability, and efficient resource utilization. Most importantly, it is the synergy between government, private sector, and academic institutions that forms the backbone of this progress. This collaborative, holistic approach is positioning Thailand to evolve from the ‘Kitchen of the World’ into ‘Asia’s Food Ingredient Innovation Hub.’ By advancing the production of functional ingredients — such as antioxidants, plant-based proteins, immunity-boosting compounds, and anti-ageing solutions — Thailand can strengthen food security, support healthy aging, and meet growing demand from health-conscious consumers. At the same time, reducing reliance on imported specialty ingredients will enhance dietary access for the public and help ease the long-term burden on the healthcare system.”

Thailand’s dietary supplement market is projected to grow by 7–9% this year, reaching 90 billion baht. This steady growth is driven by rising demand for preventive healthcare products, particularly those that support immunity, cognitive function, and skin health. Thailand holds a strong competitive edge thanks to its rich supply of raw materials and traditional knowledge, which enable local businesses to develop unique products. The high production quality that meets international standards also contributes to national competitiveness.  However, the country faces key challenges, including high technology costs and intense competition from foreign companies. To strengthen its competitiveness, greater access to innovation and integration into global networks will be essential.

Fi Asia & Vitafoods Asia 2025 are set to serve as key catalysts in unlocking and advancing Thailand’s potential in the health and nutrition sectors. These exhibitions will provide a vital platform for Thai businesses to connect with cutting-edge technologies and novel ingredients. Among the latest innovations to be showcased are plant- and microorganism-based alternative proteins, specialty herbal extracts, and sustainable production technologies. The events will also offer valuable opportunities for participants to network with over 30,000 global producers, buyers, and industry experts, as well as to access new international markets. Participation in these world-class exhibitions will not only open doors to global opportunities but also enhance brand credibility and reputation.

“Thailand – Kitchen of the World”

Dr. Phontakorn Wongcharoen, member of Thai Future Food Trade Association and Vice President of Betagro Food Innovation Center at Betagro, remarked that Thailand holds strong potential, driven by global megatrends such as rising demand for healthy, plant-based, and sustainable foods. The country’s longstanding reputation as the “Kitchen of the World” continues to reinforce the credibility and appeal of Thai food products on the global stage. However, key challenges remain—namely high production costs, increasing competition from foreign companies, and unclear regulatory frameworks. To fully unlock its national potential, Thailand must focus on raising industry standards and investing in innovation and human capital.

Mr. Nakah Thawichawatt, Chairman of the Food Supplement Industry Group under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), noted that Thailand’s dietary supplement market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the high quality of local raw materials, traditional knowledge, innovation, and reliable production standards. In response to this momentum, the Club plays a vital role in building collaborative networks and supporting Thai businesses by enhancing their access to cutting-edge research and innovation.

Bridging Research to Commercialization – The Key to Success

Asst. Prof. Dr. Pisit Dhamvithee, Deputy Dean – Research and Innovation, Faculty of Agricultural Product Innovation and Technology, Srinakharinwirot University, said that it is essential to strengthen the connection between the academic and business sectors to translate laboratory innovations into real-world applications. Several promising research areas with high commercial potential include the use of microorganisms to produce active ingredients, the extraction of key compounds from Thai herbs, and the development of plant-based foods. By collaborating to identify high-potential research topics, ensuring effective coordination, and securing adequate funding, innovations that closely align with market demands can be successfully developed and brought to market.

Mr.Panusak Palawatpong, Vice President & Chairman of Food Ingredients and Ready to Eat Processors’ Group, Thai Food Processors’ Association, stated that despite ongoing international political and trade challenges, business operators continue to enhance their production processes and strengthen food safety and compliance standards. To remain competitive, investment in robust inspection and auditing systems is essential, along with proactive collaboration with trade partners such as the EU and the US, which enforce strict ESG and carbon footprint regulations.

It is also crucial to foster collaboration among research institutes, universities, and startups around key megatrends such as innovation, value creation, and the development of health foods, functional foods, and plant-based alternatives. Such cooperation can drive the creation of new formulations and products. At the same time, achieving cost optimization and improving the supply chain are vital. This can be supported through the adoption of digital technologies such as AI and blockchain, the promotion of locally sourced agricultural substitutes to reduce imports, the exploration of new markets, and the development of strong Thai brands in international and emerging markets—such as Africa, the Middle East, and CLMV—through e-commerce platforms. Enhancing the global competitiveness of Thai businesses also requires a clear and supportive government policy. This can be achieved through close collaboration with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the Department of International Trade Promotion to fully leverage available government incentives and privileges. Finally, maintaining high production standards aligned with Net Zero goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is essential to reinforcing Thailand’s position as the “Kitchen of the World.”

Fi Asia 2025 and Vitafoods Asia 2025 will open new opportunities for Thai businesses, helping them adapt to change and strengthen their position in the global food industry. Participation in these events is a key step toward unlocking Thailand’s potential to become a global hub for food and beverage ingredients and nutraceutical products.

Fi Asia 2025 and Vitafoods Asia 2025 will be held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from September 17-19, 2025, at Hall 1-4, G Floor, and Hall 5-8, LG Floor. To take part in these transformative events, please register at Fi Asia 2025- Registration and Vitafoods Asia 2025- Registration
