Bangkok, Thailand — The Ministry of Commerce has announced the successful conclusion of “THAILAND LOCAL SDGs PLUS EXPO 2026,” a major showcase of environmentally friendly and sustainable products, held from 21–23 August 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.
The event aimed to promote and upgrade Thailand’s sustainable product sector, create sustainable income opportunities for local communities, and contribute to the country’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A total of 205 entrepreneurs participated in the event, including 90 food and beverage businesses and 105 lifestyle product businesses, showcasing products that reflect Thailand’s local knowledge, creativity, and commitment to environmentally responsible production.
One of the event’s key highlights was the special exhibition “Thai Wisdom to Sustainable Fashion,” which showcased the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya in preserving, maintaining, and building upon Thai textiles and traditional handicrafts, bringing them into contemporary design and the international market.
The exhibition demonstrated how Thailand’s cultural capital, local wisdom, and creativity can be transformed into higher-value products while incorporating sustainable production and consumption concepts.
The event also received strong support from major private-sector partners, including Thai Roong Ruang Group, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, Mitr Phol Group, and T.C. Pharmaceutical Industries Co., Ltd. Their participation reflected the importance of collaboration among the government, private sector, and entrepreneurs in promoting Thai businesses while maintaining social and environmental responsibility.
The event featured five Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and 239 business-matching meetings, involving 117 sellers and 128 buyers. Of the buyers, 19 were international buyers and 109 were domestic buyers. In addition, nine pre-matching business meetings were conducted prior to the event.
The combined value generated through pre-event and on-site business negotiations, together with retail sales during the exhibition, exceeded 500 million baht. When combined with trade exhibitions and business-matching activities held across four regions of Thailand since the beginning of 2026, the total trade value generated has surpassed 1.05 billion baht.
The participation of entrepreneurs from all 76 provinces provided regional businesses with opportunities to reach new customer groups, identify new market opportunities, and gain insights into consumer purchasing behavior in urban markets.
Many participating entrepreneurs also received expert advice on product image, packaging, branding, and online marketing, enabling them to explore new marketing channels and develop products that better meet changing consumer needs.
Several entrepreneurs said that participating in the event helped them identify new markets and gain practical ideas that they can take back to further develop their products and better respond to consumer demand.
The Ministry of Commerce emphasized that it will continue encouraging Thai producers to recognize the importance of developing environmentally friendly and sustainable products in line with growing global consumer demand.
The Ministry also plans to continue supporting Thai entrepreneurs by finding new markets, creating business opportunities, and connecting them with potential buyers, as the sustainable products market continues to expand and attract increasing interest from consumers worldwide.
The Ministry expressed its appreciation to the public, participating entrepreneurs, private-sector partners, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of THAILAND LOCAL SDGs PLUS EXPO 2026.
